Academy Awards 2007 - Part I
The Departed was the biggest winner with four Oscars when the 79th Annual Academy Awards was held last night. It won best motion picture of the year, best writing/screenplay based on material previously produced/published and best achievement in editing. It also gave an Oscar to Martin Scorsese for best achievement in directing.
Other winners were Forest Whitaker (Best performance by an actor in a leading role) for The Last King of Scotland, Helen Mirren (Best performance by an actress in a leading role) for The Queen. Supporting roles Oscars went to Alan Arkin (Little Miss Sunshine) and to Jennifer Hudson for Dreamgirls. Here's a complete list of all the Academy Awards winners:
