Medieval: Total War 2 preview / Jaime Pressly photoshoot
It's the first of March today and it also happens to be my 100th post here at DarkEyez. Hooray! So, is today's post something special? Hmm... I'm afraid not because I've been quite busy lately with work and other things. This also means that I haven't really had time to watch that many movies or play any of the new games released on the PC lately. However, January & February are usually "slow" months anyway. Most of the game developers rush their titles out before Christmas.
Many PC games are in production though and I have already mentioned the upcoming Might & Magic V and Hellgate:London on this blog before. Another game in production phase is the sequel to Medieval: Total War - a game I played a lot when it was released almost four years ago.
Produced by Creative Assembly (the same company that developed the other Total War games) Medieval 2: Total War will focus on the time period between 1080 to 1530. This long span in history means that the game contains both primitive crusader units but also advanced gunpowder armies late in the game. The map is also much bigger than in the first Medieval game with new areas like the New World (Americas) and the Holy Lands added.
The most noticeable change in the game is the graphics. Creative Assembly has taken the 3D engine from Rome: Total War and improved it further. The units now are more detailed and more important: they have a more individual look.
Medieval: Total War 2 is slated for a release later this year. Visit the TotalWar for more information. Gamespot also has a preview of the game.
