The Ring and it's sequel started a trend in Hollywood to do remakes of Japanese horror films. So, after flicks like The Grudge and Dark Water it's now time for the movie Kairo from 2001 to get the same treatment. The original was written by Kiyoshi Kurosawa who together with Wes Craven have rewritten the script for this new version. The name of the movie is Pulse and stars Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars), Ian Somerhalder (Lost) and Christina Milian (Be Cool).
The film's plot revolves around a couple of college students. After Mattie's (played by Bell) friend Josh commits suicide she and her friends are suddenly being plagued by instant messages coming from his computer. They first dismiss this as a hoax or some kind of virus, but after finding out that Josh's computer is gone from his apartment and hasn't been plugged in for days they realize that there's more to Josh's death than an apparent suicide.
