Golden Globe Awards 2007 - Part I
Even though Babel was nominated in seven Golden Globe categories it only succeeded to win in one: Best Motion Picture - Drama. A bigger winner was the movie Dreamgirls which won three globes (Best Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy and both male & female supporting role in a motion picture (Eddie Murphy & Jennifer Hudson). Other winners in the movie categories were Forest Whitaker (Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama), Helen Mirren (Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama), Sacha Baron Cohen (Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy) and Meryl Streep for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy. Martin Scorsese won an award for directing the movie The Departed.
And now over to the TV sections. My favorite TV actor right now, Dr. House (Hugh Laurie) won for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama. "Grey's Anatomy" won for Best Television Series - Drama and "Ugly Betty" scored two globes for Best Television Series - Musical/Comedy and America Ferrera Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical/Comedy.
For a complete listing of all the winners, visit IMDB's Golden Globes site. Here's a couple of pics from the awards (Eva Longoria, Sienna Miller, Hayden Panettiere, Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz and Emilie de Ravin). Mouse over for names.
